On 12 April 2026, the World Olymp’Arts Council (WOAC) held its Honorary Presidents Appointment Ceremony in Haikou, Hainan, China. The WOAC delegation visited Haikou on this occasion as the Global Gift project made another appearance at the China International Consumer Products Expo (CICPE) in Hainan. Guests from the fields of international culture, diplomacy, and the arts gathered to witness this important moment.

The ceremony was hosted by Mr. Olivier Grandjean, representative of the WOAC (Switzerland) Beijing Representative Office. Centered on the appointment of the Honorary Presidents, international cultural cooperation, and future development prospects, the event reflected WOAC’s mission and commitment to promoting global cultural and artistic exchange and fostering mutual learning among civilizations.

At the ceremony, Mr. Kim Won-soo and Ms. Irina Bokova were formally appointed as Honorary Presidents of WOAC.
Mr. Kim Won-soo, former Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations, has long been dedicated to international cooperation and multilateral governance, and enjoys broad influence in global public affairs.

Ms. Irina Bokova, former Director-General of UNESCO, has made outstanding contributions in the fields of cultural heritage protection, educational cooperation, and dialogue among civilizations.

Ms. Qin Wen, Executive President of WOAC, attended the ceremony and delivered remarks. She noted that WOAC has always upheld the principle of “connecting the world through art and fostering understanding through culture,” and remains committed to building an open, inclusive, and diverse international platform for exchange. She emphasized that the appointment of the Honorary Presidents marks an important step in WOAC’s process of international development and will inject new momentum into the Council’s future work in global cultural and artistic cooperation.

Following the remarks, Executive President Qin Wen presented the certificates of appointment and commemorative gifts to the two Honorary Presidents. The ceremony was solemn and warm, and all guests present witnessed this meaningful occasion together.


WOAC believes that, with the support of its two Honorary Presidents, the Council will further strengthen international cooperation, bring together more global cultural and artistic resources, and continue to promote exchanges and mutual learning among civilizations, making positive contributions to the development of global culture and the arts.
